What is an AI Eraser?
An AI eraser uses deep learning inpainting to remove any painted-over region from an image and reconstruct the background behind it. According to a 2022 survey published in IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (TPAMI), modern inpainting networks achieve a structural similarity index (SSIM) above 0.95 on standard benchmarks, meaning the filled area is nearly indistinguishable from the original.
