How does it work? RemoveTexts uses deep learning inpainting — the same class of neural network architecture described in a 2022 survey published in IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence — to analyze surrounding pixels and reconstruct the background where text was removed. On RemoveTexts, 94% of 11,394 measured tasks finished successfully (as of 2026-10-01). Results are weakest when text covers most of the image or sits on faces and fine patterns.
